Rising to 34 storeys and, at 143 metres, Guy’s Hospital tower is the tallest hospital building in the world. Ironman Fabrications has been appointed to do the 3.4 km of external Balustrade, as part of the  £25 million refurbishment programme appointed to Balfour Beatty in 2012 .

Each floor has a balcony around the whole building. Ironman’s job is to replace the old Balustrade with New.

Working at these extreme heights within the confined work space has presented many challenges. The building itself also presents many challenge’s when it comes to installing clean straight lines.

However work commenced in Dec 2012. We will keep you posted.
